Compressing one image is easy. Compressing four hundred of them, consistently, without babysitting a browser tab, is the part that actually saves you time.
Work on a copy
Always point batch tools at a copy of your folder, never your only set. Compression rewrites files, and you want an escape hatch if a setting was too aggressive.
Pick a quality target, not a pixel size
Resist the urge to shrink dimensions. Keep every image at its native resolution and let the encoder reduce weight instead. You get smaller files that still look right on high-density screens.
